Marie Pate
Business Manager
I have worked in the Public, Private and Charity Sectors. I am particularly skilled at helping individuals and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to understand the key aspects of change and the processes to engagement to achieve that change.
I am PRINCE 2 accredited, with over 20 years’ experience working in the Financial Industry and 15 years’ Project Management experience. Having worked across various industries and charity organisations, I understand the challenges in recognising the need for change and how to best implement that change, whilst bringing your staff with you. I am skilled in Stakeholder Management and Engagement and how to best hear the voice of staff, residents and people who use services.
Working for Railtrack as the Programme Office Manager, I managed all functional areas within the programme office supporting the delivery of a programme of work with a budget of £54m and over 100 staff. I also worked for NatWest Bank for 15 years, engaged in customer service roles, debt recovery, business analysis and project management on a wide range of projects. In addition, I have worked for both National and Local Charities, I have undertaken Business and Quality reviews, and developed networks and partnerships with over 180 community groups.
In addition, I manage a team of volunteers for a local organisation, for which I have developed a 10-month programme of delivery for approximately 80 young children. Engaging and utilising volunteers is a key aspect to be considered particularly in small businesses. I am also a trustee of a local charity, so am skilled in all aspects of charity governance.
